A formal introductory meeting between the newly appointed Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Bekwai, Hon. Salifu Issaka, and heads of department of the Bekwai Municipal Assembly was held on Monday, 19th May 2025.
Bekwai, Tuesday, May 13, 2025 — The Bekwai Municipal Assembly has unanimously confirmed Hon. Salifu Issaka as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), following a decisive endorsement by all 49 Assembly Members. The confirmation took place at the Bekwai Municipal Assembly Hall.
On Friday, 25th April 2025, the Parliamentary Committee on Sanitation and Water Resources paid a working visit to the Bekwai Municipality to assess the state of sanitation in the area. The visit commenced with a meeting held at the Yeguaa International Hotel Conference Hall in Bekwai.

The Municipal Assembly is the highest political and administrative body of the Municipal and exercises deliberative, legislative and executive functions. The Municipality was established under Legislative Instrument (L.I. 1906, 2007).
