In a bid to promote cleanliness and environmental hygiene, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Bekwai, Hon. Issaka Salifu, led the Bekwai Municipal Assembly in the National Sanitation Day exercise held on Saturday, 7th March 2026.
The Bekwai Municipal Assembly held its General Assembly Meeting on Wednesday, 25th February 2026, at the Assembly Hall in Bekwai. The meeting was convened to deliberate on two principal agenda items: the election of a Presiding Member and the creation of Sub-Committees of the Assembly.

The National Youth Authority (NYA) Bekwai Office yesterday distributed the first batch of equipment to selected beneficiaries under the National Apprenticeship Program (NAP) at the Bekwai Municipal Assembly Hall in Bekwai.
The Bekwai Municipal Assembly on Wednesday, 21st January 2026, held its Municipal Planning Co-ordinating Unit (MPCU) meeting at the Assembly Hall to deliberate on key planning and development matters in the municipality.
The Bekwai Municipal Assembly is among the 43 Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies in the Ashanti Region. The Municipal Assembly is the highest political and administrative body of the Municipal and exercises deliberative, legislative and executive functions. The Municipality was established under Legislative Instrument (L.I. 1906, 2007).
