
Bekwai, Ashanti Region – July 1, 2025 - In line with the President of the Republic's vision of fostering spiritual unity and national gratitude, the Bekwai Municipal Assembly on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, held its maiden National Prayer and Thanksgiving Day observance. The event took place at the Municipal Assembly Hall at exactly 9:00 a.m.
The day, designated by the President as a National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving, is aimed at seeking divine guidance and expressing appreciation for national blessings. Themed “Reflect, Reset and Renewal for National Prosperity,” this inaugural ceremony brought together a wide cross-section of stakeholders within the municipality.
Attendees included Paramount Chiefs, Honorable Assembly Members, Heads of Departments and Agencies, religious leaders from the Local Council of Churches and the Ghana Pentecostal Council, the Chief Imam of Bekwai, political party representatives, and the Honorable Member of Parliament for Bekwai Constituency.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Issaka Salifu, emphasized the importance of national reflection and collective thanksgiving as a foundation for sustainable development and peace.
The program featured interfaith prayers, thanksgiving messages, and calls for unity across political, religious, and traditional divides. Participants were encouraged to carry the spirit of gratitude and renewal beyond the event into their daily lives and leadership roles.
The Bekwai Municipal Assembly expressed appreciation for the full participation and support from all invitees, marking a successful start to what is expected to become an annual tradition.
