In preparation for the 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), which will be the first cohort to sit the examination under the Common Core Curriculum, a sensitization programme was organized for candidates from Monday, 20th May to Monday, 27th May, 2024 on a circuit basis.
The initiative was aimed at addressing common challenges faced by candidates in answering examination questions and at reducing their anxiety towards external examinations. To achieve this objective, a team of Chief Examiners for the core subjects, together with officials from the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), were invited to educate candidates on the nature of examination questions, effective techniques for answering them, and to provide professional guidance on examination conduct.
The sensitization programme was well received and contributed to boosting the confidence and preparedness of candidates ahead of the 2024 BECE.
