A one-day workshop on the National Standard Test (NST) was organized on Sunday, 21st July, 2024, for one hundred and fifty-eight (158) Basic Four (B4) and Basic Six (B6) teachers. The workshop aimed to equip teachers with the necessary skills to effectively administer the NST and manage learners’ data.
Participants were taken through key areas including generating index numbers for learners, administering the test items, uploading electronic data of learners, and other related procedures for smooth test administration.
Subsequently, a total of five thousand, seven hundred and seventy-six (5,776) learners sat for the NST on Tuesday, 23rd and Wednesday, 24th July, 2024. Out of this total, three thousand and thirty-eight (3,038) were Basic Four learners, comprising one thousand five hundred and sixty-one (1,561) boys and one thousand four hundred and seventy-seven (1,477) girls. The Basic Six candidates totaled two thousand seven hundred and thirty-eight (2,738), consisting of one thousand three hundred and ninety-four (1,394) boys and one thousand three hundred and forty-four (1,344) girls.
The ten School Improvement Support Officers (SISOs) were deployed to monitor the examination centres in their respective circuits, while the Director’s monitoring team also visited the centres to ensure smooth administration and adherence to examination protocols.
