Bekwai, Ashanti Region – The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Bekwai, Hon. Issaka Salifu, on Friday, September 5, 2025, joined the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, to commission the newly renovated Kokotro Methodist Primary School.
The school, which had fallen into a deplorable state, caught the attention of a philanthropist who funded and supervised the entire renovation, restoring the facility to a standard fit for quality teaching and learning.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Dr. Amoakohene lauded the philanthropist’s commitment to education and called on other well-meaning individuals to support community development projects. He emphasized that public–private partnerships are key to improving education infrastructure across the region.
As part of his personal contribution, the Regional Minister donated 10 HP laptops to the school to enhance digital literacy and improve teaching and learning outcomes.
Hon. Salifu Issaka also commended the philanthropist and the Regional Minister for their collaborative efforts, describing the project as a significant boost to educational development within the Bekwai Municipality.
