The Bekwai Municipal Assembly has elected Hon. Paul Mensah as its new Presiding Member at a meeting held on Wednesday, 3rd June 2026. The election marks an important milestone in the Assembly’s governance process and demonstrates the commitment of Assembly Members to strengthening local governance and promoting effective leadership within the municipality.
Hon. Paul Mensah secured the required votes of Assembly Members and was subsequently declared duly elected as Presiding Member of the Bekwai Municipal Assembly.
In his acceptance remarks, Hon. Mensah expressed gratitude to the Assembly Members for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work collaboratively with all stakeholders to advance the development agenda of the municipality. He called for unity, cooperation, and collective responsibility in addressing the developmental needs of the people of Bekwai.
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Salifu Issaka, congratulated the newly elected Presiding Member and expressed confidence in his ability to provide effective leadership in the conduct of Assembly business. He emphasized the importance of partnership between the Presiding Member, Assembly Members, and the Assembly administration in promoting development and improving service delivery.
