On Monday, 18th November 2024, during working hours, a devastating fire engulfed a building owned by Mr. Atta Kwabena at Kyekyewere in the Bekwai Municipality. The blaze completely destroyed the structure, which eventually collapsed under the intensity of the fire.
Fortunately, no fatalities were recorded during the incident. However, extensive property damage was reported, with the affected residents and business operators left counting their losses.
The National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), led by Mr. Edward Aboagye from the Bekwai Municipal Office, promptly arrived at the scene to assess the situation and offer initial support to the victims.
Investigations into the cause of the fire are underway, while NADMO officials have urged the community to adhere to fire safety measures to prevent future occurrences.
