In a proactive move to address the pervasive issue of streetism within the Bekwai Municipality, the Department of Social Welfare and Community Development (SWCD) organized an educational program on Friday, October 20, 2023, at Aboaso. The initiative aimed to raise awareness and provide support to vulnerable individuals susceptible to life on the streets.
The event, facilitated by dedicated SWCD officers, namely Mary Pokuaa Ofori, Vivian Appiah Kwabi, Ebenezer Atta Mensah, Ruth Adutwumwaa, and Emmanuel Agyare, garnered significant community participation and engagement.
Mary Pokuaa Ofori, leading the session, emphasized the importance of understanding the root causes of streetism and fostering community-based solutions to combat the issue effectively.
