The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Bekwai, Hon. Salifu Issaka, on Saturday, 11th July 2026, led a municipality-wide clean-up exercise aimed at promoting environmental sanitation and public health.

The exercise brought together staff of the Bekwai Municipal Assembly, led by the Municipal Coordinating Director, market women, Cadet Officers from selected Senior High Schools, and personnel from the security services, who worked collectively to clean major streets, public spaces, and market areas within the municipality.

The initiative forms part of President John Dramani Mahama's "Clean Ghana" Agenda, which seeks to promote cleaner and healthier communities across the country through collective action and responsible sanitation practices.

Addressing participants, Hon. Salifu Issaka commended the commitment of all stakeholders and encouraged residents, particularly the student community, to maintain high standards of hygiene and environmental cleanliness.

He emphasized that sustaining good sanitation practices is a shared responsibility and urged everyone to continue working together to make the Bekwai Municipality a cleaner, healthier, and more attractive place for all.
