The Bekwai Municipal Education Directorate on Tuesday, 26th May 2026, organized a circuit-based numeracy test for primary schools across the municipality as part of ongoing efforts to improve learners’ numeracy skills and promote excellence in mathematics education.
The initiative formed part of the Directorate’s commitment to strengthening foundational mathematics skills among learners at the basic level and encouraging effective teaching and learning of mathematics in schools.
The numeracy test was designed to assess learners’ understanding of mathematical concepts, identify areas requiring improvement, and provide motivation for both teachers and pupils to enhance performance in the subject.
The programme also sought to demystify the perception that mathematics is a difficult subject by building learners’ confidence and creating a positive attitude towards mathematics education.
Additionally, the exercise promoted healthy competition among learners and schools across the various circuits, encouraging pupils to strive for academic excellence while improving their problem-solving abilities.
The Bekwai Municipal Education Directorate reaffirmed its commitment to implementing innovative interventions that support quality education delivery and improve learning outcomes in basic schools across the municipality.
