BEKWAI MUNICIPAL EDUCATION DIRECTORATE OBSERVES NATIONAL CONTINUOUS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT DAY

The Ghana Education Service through the Bekwai Municipal Education Directorate, on Friday, 23rd January 2026, observed the National Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Day across all pre-tertiary schools in the municipality.

The nationwide professional development programme was conducted virtually and formed part of the Ghana Education Service's continuous efforts to enhance the professional competencies of teachers and improve the quality of teaching and learning.

As part of the training, teachers were taken through Cyber Security and Data Protection – Phase II, equipping them with the knowledge and skills required to safeguard digital information, promote responsible use of technology, and ensure compliance with data protection principles in the educational environment.

The training also highlighted the importance of cybersecurity awareness in schools, particularly in an era of increasing digitalization, and encouraged teachers to adopt best practices in protecting learners' and institutional data.

The Bekwai Municipal Education Directorate commended teachers across the municipality for their active participation and commitment to continuous professional learning, emphasizing that regular capacity-building programmes are essential to improving instructional delivery and educational outcomes.

The observance of the National Continuous Professional Development Day underscores the Ghana Education Service's commitment to building a competent and digitally responsive teaching workforce capable of meeting the evolving demands of 21st-century education.
