In his address, Hon. Salifu Issaka commended the NYA for its commitment to youth development and skills empowerment in the municipality. He emphasized that the National Apprenticeship Program is a strategic intervention designed to reduce unemployment and promote self-reliance among young people.

“This initiative is not just about distributing equipment; it is about creating opportunities and building sustainable livelihoods for our youth,” he stated. He urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the tools provided and to remain focused and disciplined in their chosen trades.

The District Director of the NYA highlighted that the equipment distribution marks a significant milestone in the implementation of the National Apprenticeship Program in Bekwai. According to the Director, the program seeks to equip young people with practical vocational skills and provide them with the necessary start-up tools to transition smoothly into self-employment.

Beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the government and the NYA for the support, describing the gesture as timely and life-changing. Many noted that the equipment received would enable them to expand their work, improve productivity, and increase their income.

The event also served as a call to action for stakeholders and well-wishers to continue supporting youth-centered initiatives within the municipality. Officials reiterated that empowering young people remains a critical pathway to community development and economic growth.

The National Apprenticeship Program continues to play a pivotal role in strengthening vocational training and fostering entrepreneurship among the youth in Bekwai and beyond.
