The Bekwai Municipal Assembly on Tuesday, 2nd December, 2025 presented twenty (20) industrial sewing machines to twenty (20) beneficiaries of the Digital Access and Rural Empowerment (DARE) Programme at the forecourt of the Bekwai Community ICT Centre.
The presentation was made by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Issaka Salifu, with support from the Municipal Coordinating Director, Ms. Sheila Rosetta Arthur, in the presence of partners of the DARE Programme.
Speaking at the brief ceremony, Hon. Issaka Salifu emphasized the Assembly’s commitment to empowering the youth and women with employable skills through digital and vocational interventions. He encouraged the beneficiaries to make effective use of the equipment to improve their livelihoods and contribute to local economic development.
Ms. Sheila Rosetta Arthur commended the partners of the DARE Programme for their continuous support and urged the beneficiaries to maintain and utilize the machines responsibly to ensure sustainability of the initiative.
The DARE Programme is aimed at promoting digital inclusion, skills development, and economic empowerment, particularly in rural communities.
