The Bekwai Municipal Assembly on Thursday, 23rd October 2025, held its Second Ordinary General Assembly Meeting of the Second Session of the Ninth Assembly at the Municipal Assembly Hall.
The meeting, which commenced at 10:30 a.m., was presided over by the Presiding Member, Hon. Bruce Kofi Asante, and brought together Assembly Members, Heads of Department, and key stakeholders from the municipality.
In his opening remarks, Hon. Bruce Kofi Asante commended members for their dedication and active participation in Assembly activities. He encouraged them to continue collaborating towards the sustainable development of the municipality.
The Assembly deliberated on and approved major working documents for the 2026 fiscal year, including the Fee-Fixing Resolution, the Annual Action Plan, and the Composite Budget. Members also discussed and endorsed the Executive Committee Report, which was presented by the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Issaka Salifu.
The meeting also received presentations from the previous District Road Improvement Program (DRIP) committee on financial accounts, while the new DRIP committee outlined modalities for the operation and management of DRIP machines.
In his remarks, Hon. Issaka Salifu commended the Assembly Members for their continuous support and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to enhancing development across the municipality.
