The Bekwai Municipal Education Directorate, through its Education Management Information System (EMIS) Unit, on Tuesday, 26th May 2026, organized a workshop for headteachers of basic schools on the electronic submission of data for the Annual School Census.

The Annual School Census is a yearly data collection exercise conducted by the education sector to gather, store, and generate reliable information for effective educational planning, policy formulation, and decision-making.

The workshop was aimed at equipping headteachers with the necessary knowledge and skills to accurately collect, manage, and electronically submit school data through the EMIS dashboard.

A total of one hundred and ninety-four (194) headteachers from basic schools across the municipality participated in the training.

During the workshop, participants were guided on the processes involved in the electronic submission of census data, the importance of data accuracy, and the role of quality educational data in supporting planning and resource allocation within the education sector.

The Directorate emphasized the need for headteachers to ensure timely and accurate submission of school information to enhance the reliability of educational statistics for the municipality and the country at large.
