MUNICIPAL CHIEF EXECUTIVE DONATES FOOD ITEMS TO THE NEEDY

The Municipal Chief Executive for Bekwai Municipal in the Ashanti Region, Hon. Kwaku Kyei Baffour has donated food items to Central Destitute Infirmary, an orphanage under the Department of Social Welfare to help reduce the hardship of the Corona virus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The food items include 5 bags of rice, 2 boxes of tin tomatoes, fresh tomatoes, onions, pepper and 2 boxes of frozen chicken.

In addition, the Municipal Chief Executive also donated one (1) veronica bucket, a stand, four (4) rolls of tissue paper and four (4) liquid soap. In a short ceremony at the forecourt of the Infirmary, the Municipal Chief Executive said, the gesture is aimed at supporting our brothers and sisters at the orphanage in this difficult times of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hon. Kyei Baffour advised them to adhere to the precautionary measures outlined by the Ghana Health Services i.e regular washing of hands with soaps under running water, avoid touching of nose, eyes and mouth, using alcohol-based hand sanitizer, ensuring social distancing among others. On his part, Mr. Rafael Amexo, who is the warden at the Infirmary expressed his appreciation to the Municipal Chief Executive and his entourage for remembering them and thanked them for their kind gesture.

The Municipal Chief Executive was accompanied by the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Yaw Adu-Asamoah and some staff of the Assembly.
