BMA COMMENCES A 7-DAY TRAINING IN DIGITAL SKILLS

The Bekwai Municipal Assembly (BMA) through the Bekwai Community ICT Center (CIC) on Tuesday, 12th April, 2022 commenced a 7-day training of interested persons in digital skills. The training which takes place at the premises of Bekwai CIC is part of a nationwide pilot trainings subsequent to an agreement between the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communication (GIFEC) and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) to train significant number of citizens across the country in digital skills.

The program which is dubbed ICT and Entrepreneurship for Businesswomen, Students, and Teachers comprises of sixty-two (62) participants drawn from certain categories of people, which include hair dressers, beauticians, market women, seamstress, unemployed graduates, and school dropout.

At the opening ceremony, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon Kwaku Kyei Baffour highlighted the importance of having digital skills in this current technologically driven economy. He therefore encouraged the participants to actively participate in the training. Participants expressed their enthusiasm for the training and assured the MCE that they will participate fully in order to benefit wholly from all the activities of the program.
