The convener of the Social Services sub-committee of Bekwai Municipal Assembly (BMA) on Wednesday, 12th October, 2022 convened a meeting at the Bekwai Municipal ICT Conference Room. This is a quarterly statutory sub-committee meeting organized to deliberate on issues of social concern in order to being amicable solution to all social problems in the municipality.
At the meeting, the convener of the sub-committee Mr Dickson Osei-Boateng welcomed all members to the meeting. It was followed by a thorough discussion of the agenda which included security at the various bars and restaurants in Bekwai community, budget allocation to the Destitute Infirmary and other emergencies from the Municipal Hospital, mechanization of boreholes in the communities and purchasing of office equipment for the department of Social Welfare and Community Development.
The convener was impressed with the depth of knowledge and the level of patriotism exhibited by the members in their submissions. These attributes made the committee’s resolutions more pragmatic and easily attainable. He encouraged all members to assiduously service the Assembly in their various capacities on the sub-committee.
