Bekwai, Ashanti Region – May 21, 2025 - The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Bekwai Hon. Issaka Salifu, together with the Member of Parliament (MP) for Bekwai Constituency, Hon. Ralph Poku Adusei paid a working visit to the Bekwai Community ICT Center on Wednesday, 21st May, 2025, to interact with participants of the ongoing Digital Access for Rural Empowerment (DARE) Project.
The visit was aimed at showing support and encouraging participants undergoing digital skills training under the DARE initiative, which seeks to bridge the digital divide and equip rural youth with practical ICT knowledge for personal and economic empowerment.
During the interaction, the MP for Bekwai commended the initiative and applauded the participants for taking advantage of the opportunity to build relevant 21st-century skills. He urged them to remain committed to the training, noting that digital literacy is a powerful tool for development and innovation.

The MCE for Bekwai also addressed the trainees, emphasizing the government's commitment to expanding digital access and creating opportunities for young people, especially in rural communities. He encouraged the participants to apply the knowledge gained to improve their lives and contribute to the development of their communities.
The Municipal Coordinating Director, on her part, reaffirmed the Assembly’s support for the project and highlighted the role of digital education in public service, entrepreneurship, and modern-day problem solving.
Participants expressed appreciation for the support and motivation from the leaders, and some shared testimonies about how the training was already impacting their understanding of computers and digital tools.
The DARE project is being implemented in partnership with development organizations and aims to empower rural youth and women through practical ICT training, with Bekwai serving as one of the beneficiary communities.
